Haven’t been able to watch any of the episodes (gonna wait for the DVD-release), but I’ve seen clips and to me, it looks as awesome and beautiful as the past seasons <3
I loved it. It was exactly what I wanted. It was so close to the Manga I didn’t notice any change. Loved the new transformations and the new look of the eyes. My fave Manga season was supers and now I’m very much looking forward to it!
Things I didn’t like: the transformation sequences & attack sequences. The lack of story detail on Sailor Saturn… I hated the small part she had on the last episode… Things I liked: everything else. ;)
I wish they could finish this anime until the end

Sailor Moon Crystal Season 3 has finally concluded!! What an epic end :’D Really really enjoyed Season 3 overall, and I think they did a really good job! I thought Hotaru/Sailor Saturn really stole the show, and I really like this version of Chibiusa too.

Loved the start of the Dream arc! Didn’t know it was almost identical to the start of the Sailor Stars 90s anime.
I’m glad they didn’t run out of budget during the finale and ended up having weird shots or something. Everything was beautifully done ! ^^
True ! I was not expecting them to be in high school already ! The 90s timeline was a bit bizarre imo.. The Inner Senshi were never at school during SuperS except Chibiusa, but then there’s the 3rd ep where Usagi got 28% on a test out of nowhere. ^^” But anyhoo, that’s a fresh change here though, like a combination of SuperS’ and Stars’ beginning ! Liking the throwback of the similar shots where Usagi grabs Mako and Minako on their arms xD
haha yeah that scene was actually in the manga, so its more like the 90s anime Stars referenced the manga Dream Arc (but in the Stars season… did that make sense??) :D

Season 3 has completely turned the table and redeemed the whole Crystal series, I guess ! Hopefully they (at least) keep the quality of arts and animations like this for the Dream and Stars arc ! Lol at me, saying this as if it’s confirmed, but I’m quite certain they are going to go all the way, with all the positive responses for S3, I don’t see why not ! ^^

I was a little disappointed with last week’s episode when Super Chibi Moon appeared.
The animation seemed a little rushed in drawing, and suddenly there is cgi computer animation of the grail transformation to super?
Maybe it was there this whole season for eternity and I failed to see it till now?
Some things that seemed off / rushed was a close up of Mamoru’s eyes in the apartment. There was a close up of Usagi eyes too in the battle that seemed off. When Super Chibi Moon jumped out of the apartment window, she was so stiff as she sailed across the sky.
The grail has been CGI every time it appeared outside of transformations, but this latest episode was so good. Almost cried a few times lol

Wow, this season just gets better and better!! I thought “Act 34 – Infinity 7, Transformation, Super Sailor Moon” episode would mostly be about the awakening of Super Sailor Moon…but boy did that escalate quickly…from the back stories of the Outer Senshi during the Silver Millennium to the reveal of Sailor Saturn… but then the awakening of Mistress9 was a whole new level of intensiveness!! Holy moly XD
This week’s episode is also an action-packed one, I just love it ! The curse against the Inner Senshi in the labyrinth somehow reminds me of the old episode of SuperS where Zirconia tries to deceive the very same group of people, it actually feels nostalgic to me XD
haha yeah it also happened in the Sailor Moon musical so it reminded me of that! I really like how Usagi has matured and it shows during this episode :)

Yesss, some really good moments for Hotaru!!! I really think she’s stealing the show right now. I feel so bad for her, she’s in so much pain and misery :'( It gave me a very similar feel to the musical which was great. I think they’ve done a really good job with her here.
On the other hand, I think the outer senshi are a bit… underwhelming? I don’t know, I don’t think they’re anywhere near as likeable as the 90s version. They were so much cooler there (they also had cooler music ;D). I think they had better characterisation and development as well, due to the “filler” episodes.
Yeaa, that scene after Chibi-Usa saw her arm was very emotional it was so good that I feel really bad for her as well :( I’m glad she is getting the spotlight she deserves, as the 90s S season didn’t even show her that much even though she held an important part there, or at least that’s how I feel anyway XD
Ikr, I’m not getting the vibe I used to had when I saw them in the 90s, especially Uranus and Neptune (kinda used to Pluto just getting the short end of the Garnet Rod now XD). I, too, was a bit disappointed with their transformation music nowhere remotely as cool as the 90s one, using their intro music (in Viluy’s ep) would’ve been better, as that one’s actually good, although still losing in terms of pacing of the music. :\

Loving the latest episode, too ! The highlight for me is the Hotaru and ChibiUsa scene ! Though I can’t help but wonder if they’re really going down the Hotaru being a cyborg path now that they’ve mentioned Hotaru’s body having “scar” and such (though I don’t know what the exact “accident” was, I’m assuming it’s more or less similar to the 90s case in which there was some sort of huge disaster happening at the Tomoe lab), I really hope so though ! 8D

I quite enjoyed the latest episode too (Act 30)~ and I also think the highlight of the episode was Hotaru and Chibiusa scene :) I really like Hotaru, so it gives me such a nice fuzzy feeling seeing her make a friend (though its also kinda creepy with the whole Silver Crystal thing!) I dunno, I feel uneasy when the senshi’s identities are known to other people.
I was also surprised Hotaru mentioned the reason she’s covered up. In the latest Sailor Moon musical, they made her scars/body a big reveal to Chibiusa. They didn’t go down the cyborg route though.
The Haruka/Usagi scenes were somewhat intriguing… though I find it amusing that Usagi imagined Haruka kissing her XD Surely that scene never happened? ^^” At the moment I’m finding it hard to like Haruka/Sailor Uranus as much as I did in the 90s version. Guess I’ll have to watch more to see if the character develops a bit more :)

Yeah, I feel you for the identities thing, they did a good job keeping those things down low in the 90s (the identities reveal episodes were normally among my favourites), but now everything’s just all out in the open since the first act lol

And yeah maybe because Uranus and Neptune’s character developments used to be more slow-paced, therefore smoother and more natural ? Idk though, they used to have their own things going on in the background anyway so I’m kinda used to it lol
Anyone notice episodes 27 & 28 where “Act 27”, episode 29 was “Act 28” and episode 30 is “Act 29″… the episode title numbering system is all messed up coz of the extending of Acts into another episode. That is my rant. This episode was good though. Finally get to see Uranus and Neptune! I wish we still got different attack animation each episode… :(

Freaking loved it. Venus is my favorite, so I knew I’d love this episode.
I forgot that this is the first episode where we see Haruka dressed more femininely, complete with using “atashi” (or “watashi”? my hearing’s a bit iffy today) to refer to herself rather than her usual “boku”. One of the things I’ve always liked about Haruka was her more complex gender identity. It makes me feel like Takeuchi took a little bit of extra care in creating her.

I am so loving seeing the manga finally flushed out. They are still staying really really close to the manga. Seeing Mar’s Snake Fire attack finally animated had me cheering just as loud as seeing Venus’s Wink Chain Sword attack earlier this season.
I love how they add little details to beef up the scenes, especially the battles.
The kiss was so scandalous! In the woods at night. That was the very beginning of the next Act, Two New Scouts, but I love that they pulled it to use as a cliff hanger at the end of this attack.

My biggest complaint is that Chibimoon’s transformation theme sounds a bit like an RPG track. Not doing it for me. But I think the pacing of the story was great, animation was slightly wonky at times but all the close ups were great, a little off model here and there isn’t anything to write home about. Love the Moons during the fight scene, and all throughout!!! Their dynamic is spot on. And of course the battle was great, loving seeing the witches 5 so soon, and I’m probably the only person who doesn’t mind having all the transformations in. At all. Can’t wait for next week!! Eudial looks like she’s going to be someone to be reckoned with–and she’s the WEAKEST of the 5!!!
I am loving all the attacks though. The way they flushed out Wink Chain Sword. Amazing.
I also love they made the fight with the possessed cat more detailed. In the manga, it was sort of lame. The four inners didn’t attack it at all. Chibi Moon and Moon dodged, then pulled out the heart rod.
So it is very interesting that the animators decided to make Hotaru witness all the inner senshi transform, not just moon and chibi moon.
The full transformations almost back to back. I was first disappointed of possibly wasted time… Then pulled out the manga book.
This is the first manga act that was split into two halves for animation. What we saw in part one and part two was written into one manga act. (All of our previous part one, two, etc Naoko wrote like that in the manga.)
This first caught my eye when Hulu called this new episode 28, but the trailer for next week said Ripples, Act 28.
The big battle with the possessed cat is also supposed to be at the beginning of Act 28 Ripples. Act 27 ends with Chibi Moon and Moon transforming and speech.
So the full out transformations didn’t bother me after realizing this. For we didn’t lose any content from the manga, and they also covered the possessed cat battle which was written in the next Act, Ripples.
I really hate it i cannot watch it in the available networks and sites like others do!! Its so unfair!! Why we dont hve it herw in kumamoto?? They air it in fukuoka in kyushu brodcasting what about the fans here in kumamoto??? I use to watch it in nico nico coz i cannot access it in hulu and crunchy!! Man this really sucks!! I hope somebody do something about this!!!

And although I can even let the fact that the second episode features yet another full henshin and intro sequences (+ ChibiUsa, of course ! xD), I was taken aback at how uncivilized Hotaru’s (translated) speech can be with that gentle face expression lol did not see this new side of hers coming, as she was one of the more polite-speaking Senshi, at least back in the 90s anime (the other one being Setsuna, iirc) XD

Yeah ! I just hope that, since I heard this arc will get much darker later down the road, they can fully show how dark it’s intended to be, (as the first act still kinda has its happy, bright feeling, which I think goes well) with the more cutesy art style.
Lol yeah back-to-back showing full sequence of both henshin and intro of all senshi was a bit of an overkill, especially on the second part of the same act, though I don’t personally mind.
Would be more understandable if it’s towards the final battle, where they introduce themselves to the human enemies rather than mere Daimons, which I don’t think get what they’re on about XD

I think we were used to long transformation sequences for either important episodes or revealing episodes but I don’t care, I’m just glad the animation is awesome and the girls have personalities, it’s great.
Love everything about it except for the extremely long transformation scenes in both episodes so far lol like I understand doing a full Usagi and Chibi-Usa; but maybe not a full scout one for every episode… Love it regardless

You think we needed all five of each in the second episode? You don’t think we would’ve been fine with just a shortened montage of the transformations and only Moon and Chibi Moon’s speech? All I said is that it felt unnecessary. I didn’t say it ruined the episode and should’ve been cut out entirely.
Especially in what’s specifically pegged as a two parter not a second episode.
Alex Breen haha yeah I agree with you actually. Love the animations but a condensed version would have worked better IMO only because we just saw the full henshin + full intro of all the girls last ep

Honestly, this is probably the last time they’ll all transform together for a while. Going off the manga, next week’s battle will start with Jupiter and Mars, and the act focuses a bit on those two at the retreat anyway. So the next group henshin probably won’t be for a while.

We’ll see. In the manga chapter that corresponds with these two episodes, it was just Moon and Chibi that transformed and fought the cat daimon, so I wouldn’t automatically expect the show to follow the manga.
I loved it so much!!! I was really impressed that they used Venus Wink Chain Sword and Jupiter Coconut Cyclone! THAT WAS AWESOME!!

Liked it a lot. But I really don’t like the music (BGM) because it’s so bland. I guess now that Mr. Arisawa is gone there’s no good composers left at Toei?
I kind of agree with you ^^” The BGM don’t feel as memorable.. love the outro song though!

So so so much better!! This is what I envisioned for the reboot! The attacks are AMAZING and the transformations are gorgeously done.
The style isn’t quite as “light and fluffy” looking as the first two seasons, but this looks just fantastic. Good riddens bad cgi, none of us will miss you!

I loved it! I’m so glad they got rid of the cgi transformations. The only thing I thought was awkward was the animation for their I will punish you stances after they transformed and how Luna, Diana, and Artemis look.
I am very much enjoying this they animation. The girls aren’t as stiff as they were in the first two arcs. Expressions! The girls are allowed expressions!

Like Emily Ung said, the first two seasons styles feel more unique and closer to the manga, but it wasn’t executed very well, with flat animations, expressionless characters and strange anatomy.
Amber Weinberg I think the new style looks like a blend of the 90s anime and has a “pretty cure” look- which I understand not every one would like.. animation wise though it really is a huge improvement :) I think you may not really like the style they’ve gone with that’s all
I guess you’re right about how it looked close to the manga but the first two seasons were sloppy in terms of consistency. I much prefer the third season’s animation but I respect your opinion

WHERE HAVE THIS ANIMATION BEEN IN THE FIRST TWO SEASONS?! It is a huge imrovement from the previous seasons (and the horrifying BluRay…) I had fun watching it, and Michiru and Haruka ending.. I ship them <3

I love the song dedicated to Neptune and Uranus at the end too! It reminded me so much of Revolutionary Girl Utena. :)
The transformation scenes were similar to the original anime. And the animation is much better than the first two seasons. Very well done this time round.
Justice is served. Better transformation scenes for the scouts. Was a bit Meh on Venus but that’s ok. Definitely did loads better on the art and direction of their poses. The flow was very nice. Can’t wait to watch more!
