Sailor Moon Crystal follows closely to the manga storyline, introducing the much anticipated outer senshi; Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune and Sailor Saturn- assembling all 10 Senshi including Sailor Chibimoon!
With a new director and character designer onboard, the art style has changed from the earlier seasons, with completely new transformation and attack sequences animated in 2D.

Mistress. 9. Awakening. I don’t think I’ve felt this tense throughout the entire series of Crystal until that scene.
Also love the funny scene where Haruka talks about how she and Michiru have patrons.
haha yes I agree!! I thought this episode would mostly be about the awakening of Super Sailor Moon…but boy did that escalate quickly…from the back stories to the reveal of Sailor Saturn… but Mistress9 was a whole new level of intense!!

Too bad the pacing for other parts is a bit too…quick, I guess ? The outer senshi assembling together and such feels rather lackluster to me..
But the Hotaru scene saves the whole episode which would be kinda meh otherwise ! 8D
Yesss, some really good moments for Hotaru!!! I really think she’s stealing the show right now. I feel so bad for her, she’s in so much pain and misery :'( It gave me a very similar feel to the musical which was great. I think they’ve done a really good job with her here.
On the other hand, I think the outer senshi are a bit… underwhelming? I don’t know, I don’t think they’re anywhere near as likeable as the 90s version. They were so much cooler there (they also had cooler music ;D). I think they had better characterisation and development as well, due to the “filler” episodes.
Yeaa, that scene after Chibi-Usa saw her arm was very emotional it was so good that I feel really bad for her as well :( I’m glad she is getting the spotlight she deserves, as the 90s S season didn’t even show her that much even though she held an important part there, or at least that’s how I feel anyway XD
Ikr, I’m not getting the vibe I used to had when I saw them in the 90s, especially Uranus and Neptune (kinda used to Pluto just getting the short end of the Garnet Rod now XD). I, too, was a bit disappointed with their transformation music nowhere remotely as cool as the 90s one, using their intro music (in Viluy’s ep) would’ve been better, as that one’s actually good, although still losing in terms of pacing of the music. :\
please when Crystal ever was great at character building.
Crystal is BEST at narrative BUT it is weak at character building and interaction.
90’s anime is best for character interactions and emotions.

Late response, but yes. For the next few episodes the singer for the opening is Mitsuko Horie, who also voiced Sailor Galaxia in the 90s anime.
