you know it’s like every season usagi waits for a new transformation thats longer than the next and i bet in stars the outer senshi are thinking “damn glad we don’t transform in season 5 we jut show up out of nowere and rose petals conveinently introduce us to the sailor animamates”

when watching the series i skip the transformations, its a waste of time on school days

Actually it was shown in some episodes of the anime, that the pretty, cute, loooong transformations really happen in a fraction of a second and what we see is just a really sloooow motion.

It makes more sense to be in an ‘instance’, but I had to throw this one in, after everyone watches the henshin sequence every episode which takes up like 30 seconds XD
The funniest thing is half of almost every episode is taken by all of the girls shouting each others names. Right now I’m watching the second episode of Sailor Stars and of course when outer senshi appeared the inner just HAD to say the name of every single one of them, instead of just saying “oh, it’s you gals! great timing, great to see you, what are you doing here?” :P
Also, I think the anime would be even more epic if the attacks changed more often :P
Or everyone saying a name one at a time.

Minako: Usagi-chan!
And, of course, continue on if Haruka, Hotaru, Michiru, Setsuna, Mamoru, Chibi-Usa, Luna, Artemis, Diana, and anybody I may be missing are around.

I used to think that time would like, speed up, so while I was watching my TV in the normal world, in the Sailor Moon world the transformations took like three seconds.
This still made me laugh though. Love Naru’s ghost xD

I have a suggestion, you can do a comic of how the english dub always changes the attacks?
yeah like maybe a sailor soldier (english dub) says their attack while in japan,it does not work.the japanese version says “no its (whatever it is in japanese)” (it works) english one says it wrong, japanese says “no (whatever it is in japanese)” another sailor soldier (the same one in both japanese and english) are there, one says this could take a while the other one has the sweatdrop. (sorry that my comment is long).

no that would be plutos powers which SHE CANT USE EVEN THOUGH SHE GOT THEM because there were three things she could never do leave her post at the time door go through the time door and stop time two out of three done guess which

Lol! Adding to the “why don’t the enemy attack them while they transform?” thing, I always wondered why the enemy never attacked them while they’re doing the speeches? I probably would if I was an enemy. They’re off-guard while they’re dancing around and posing!
lol, that’s something I never really thought about except- why do they bother listening to them talk? The youmas etc I mean.. they’ll just die in the episode anyway XD
The youma don’t know they’re the red shirt guy, sacrificed by the writers to let the plot move forward. They still think they have a chance even though the one sending them to fight the senshi know different, and want to know the name of the opponent they will destroy. :D

I always found it odd how time kinda stops when the senshi are transforming/executing an attack. I mean really, their sequences aren’t short…
I must say, thats probably one thing I didn’t like about the series, since it takes away from some of the seriousness of few battles (specifically near the end of the arcs).
AND ESPECIALLY SAILOR MOON. Her transformations/attacks are a good 20-30 seconds longer than everyone else.
I do realize that sequences like that are necessary in Magic Girl anime, but….it wouldn’t hurt for it to be a lil more realistic every now and then?
I find it amazing when Sailor Moon does her final attack and the enemy just stands there, waiting for her to finish.
Surely time doesn’t stop when they attack? XD
Remember the scene where Sailor Moon uses her attack on Sailor Tin Nyanko? The attack was just as long but for some reason Tin Nyanko couldn’t run away in time (and got half healed)
an enemy could just take them out when they transforming lol

lol The age ol’ transformation joke. Naru-chan, we barely knew ye….
It’s funny when people cry “Y dont dey jus attack hurrrrr while shez tranfrming!!!!”, not realizing it’s just for show. Magical girl anime is like that. In real time, the transformations are instant. Just check out Michiru during the flashback in episode 106. Same goes for attacks. Remember the Rubeus fight? She spent “forever” doing the Escalation at first, then for the second time, she executed it instantly. Again, all for show.
I’m not too sure about the attacks though XD Remember in the S movie, when the senshi were all trying to attack, but they were too fast and attacked them before they could finish executing their attack? Also, in a SuperS episode, Mars was trying to use her flame sniper and end up getting burnt herself? It seems like they really need to say the entire phrase..
Yet at other times they don’t say anything XD

^.^ I was wondering if anyone would bring up Michiru’s transformation for that episode. Its cut but still shows Haruka watching her, so its not impossible for people to watch if it is more instant. For attacks, maybe its just sometimes they do the whole sequence (because their girls and want to be flashy?) but if they really wanted to they could shorten it? I don’t know, I never liked watching the same sequence for the attacks all the time. Like something different, even if it does take the same (long) amount of time it would be more interesting to watch different attack sequences.
Oh yes, which was pretty cool in the movies, especially in the R movie where all the senshi had the same attacks, but it looked different :D Wish they did more of those.
Speaking of shortening attacks, Jupiter’s Supreme thunder sometimes it cut short too (without the little antennae thing popping up)
PGSM shows Minako Running down the street and in a flash fo light become Sailor V. Anime has Mamoru do much the same except on a motorcycle.

Oh my gosh where have I not seen people talk about how long the transformations took. But let’s think about this logically. Why couldn’t the youma just destroy the senshi while they are transforming? Never mind.

I remember thinking that the senshi wouldn’t last long against a conventional threat. Think about it. An MP-5 submachine gun fires 700 rounds per minute. Her transformation lasts 45 seconds. Hmmm….
Even in the time it takes just to say, “Moon Crystal Power, Make-up!” she’d be dead. xD

Well you’re right about that one XD Remember when Tin Nyanko shot a fire at Eternal Sailor Moon? Seiya had no time to transform, she just ran to take the attack.

That’s a good point. Though from what I know the transformations don’t take that long and just made flashy for the anime (which I think just gets old). I love the second panel, Usagi looks so beautiful and natural. <3!

Actually I think Naoko confirmed that all the transformations happen in a split second in real time but this is still hilarious. Love the last panel!
p.s. You HAVE to do one about Tuxedo Mask’s …. wierd transformation! Arm sticking out for his hat… no, oh wait, it’s just sticking out!
haha I’ve always wondered whether it was instant or if it really did take that long. There were several cases where you see the characters thinking while looking on at her henshin sequence (eg Mamoru, Sailor Aluminum Seiren etc)- which is only possible if it did take that long.
(LOL. Tuxedo’s anime henshin is hilarious…but can’t beat the PGSM one, LOL!!)

But actually, that you mentioned about the characters thinking while watching them transform, could be possible with an instant transformation. Don’t they tranform in a flash of light? (like Michiru in front of Haruka)
Then it would be possible for them to think “Is that… Sailor Moon?” while her silhouette changes its appearence in that flash of light, as Michiru’s does if you look closely. Or when the light fades away and their view becomes more clear. That’s what I think. :p

I timed it, Moon Crystal Power takes 45 seconds :D That’s less than a minute!
