Dear loyal readers, followers, and visitors of MoonSticks,
I’m sorry to suddenly drop this on you, but as of 13th July 2010, MoonSticks will no longer be updated on a weekly Friday schedule. Instead, comics will be updated on a “whenever” basis, depending on how inspired I am. The reason for this decision is I want to produce quality work, and sometimes having a schedule can become overwhelming and feel more like a chore. I still do love Sailor Moon very much and producing these comics has always been a lot of fun. However, there are times when things become too stressful and the joy is taken away from it.
I want to thank every one of you for all your support and encouragement over the past year. MoonSticks wouldn’t even be around today if it wasn’t for you, always visiting and leaving such positive feedback. I have come to really enjoy the conversations with each and every one of you, and I hope we’ll still keep in touch.
I don’t want to go into too much detail but you can visit my blog for a more personal view on this matter. It was a hard decision but I hope you all understand.
This is not the end of MoonSticks, and new comics will be posted from time to time, just not in the usual weekly fashion. Please continue to support us and hope you enjoy the comics that do turn up in the future.

I loved reading your comics! So much! I got my sister to read them as well, we’re big fans now. I hope to see more up sometime, but I don’t think you should be doing something if it feels like a chore for you. So ignore the negative comments.. I think you should make a book of these comics and sell them. n-n I’d buy it~ They’d be the perfect little thing to read if you need some cheering up. LONG LIVE 4-KOMA!~~!

What if you decided to hold a contest to help inspire you!? Not to mention pass time. During that time you can build up a huge stack of comics! That way when ever there is a week when you don’t feel like posting one, you will have tons in storage to pick from.
The contest could be a ‘Make your own Moonsticks Comic contest’. And the person who makes the best one will win tons of prizes, not to mention having their comic featured in the ‘Moonsticks Gallery’.
It would be a great way to get your audience involved, and maintain a fanbase while you recover from your lack of inspiration. :)

This is really pathetic. People are still posting saying that they understand three to four months later! Yet there still hasn’t been anything from “CHIBI Jennifer”. Coming to this website is a waste of my time.

Hey, you’re not the only webcomic artist I like who updates on a whenever basis.
Hell, you even have an advantage over some of the others; they’re all story comics, and I have to wait for the next bit of plot, which makes the whenever-updating-schedule seem more annoying. With your one-shot-gags, I don’t have to wait for a year to see the latest plot twist resolved. :D

I have an idea this is from when sailor moon is talking to the starlights in the battle against Galaxia

Panel 3: They all are staring at her
Panel 4:Sailor moon-”Can you hold Chibi Chibi? I nver picked her up before and she not light weight.”
i was watching pretty guardian sailor moon and i thought about when they cartwheel their underwear shows. so mabye u could make a comic where it shows a TV screen showing the news and people protesting that they should wear shorts underneath

Panel 2:umino is thinking only naru-chan cares
panel 3:nephrite’s ghost appears and says naru-chan only likes me
panel 4:nephrite’s ghost enters umino while umino is screaming
(part two of NO ONE CARES) UMINO’S IN TROUBLE
panel 1:the next day umino(possessed by nephrite) slaps naru-chan on the face
Panel 2:naru yells what wrong with u while slaping him
panel 3:nephrite yells yes! while following naru as she walks away
panel 4:umino(not possessed) runs after her yelling wait naru-chan i was possessed! naru yells back forget it we are over (nephrite is still following her)
p.s. where i live it is the 23 today
nephrite follows her wit hearts in eyes

While I hate to be pessimistic, most web comics that I’ve seen that don’t stick to a schedule of any kind sputter off and die. Hopefully this will not happen but it’s something to keep in mind. I suggest setting yourself a number you do each month and update at random during the month.
Yeah, this is something I’ve kept in mind since the day MoonSticks was launched. Hopefully MoonSticks will be an exception.

That’s too bad. I will miss checking weekly. Though I understand your reasoning perfectly. I hate running by a schedule unless it is required (like school or work) and recreational things you do for others shouldn’t be a reason to stress out or have a strict schedule for. I’ll be looking forward for any future comics you have when you get the time and inspiration.

You’ve done alot. It is understandable to change your schedule up if it’s stressing you out a bit. Besides like your other fans said, we’ll be loyal to Moonsticks and will continue to enjoy whatever you draw up ^.^ There are still alot of your comics to reread and to share with friends :D Take your time

Don’t worry! Even if the updates become fewer and farther between, I still love your comics! I don’t think you have to worry about “betraying” your readers. I would much rather you be not stressed and post comics every once in a while than have you burn out. That wouldn’t be fun for you or me. Plus it wouldn’t be very nice of me to demand that you drive yourself crazy to make comics when all I ever contribute is the occasional comment. It’s wonderful that you make MoonSticks comics for us to enjoy so it’s only fair that you should be allowed to enjoy it too :)

You might want to make the link to this post a bit bigger and more eye catching. I didn’t know about the schedule change until late Friday night. I found it by checking the facebook to see why there wasn’t a new one. I didn’t notice the link until I was actually looking for it and since I didn’t see a news page it was confusing to where this was located. I think you new schedule will work better since you seem to keep having to make break pages and go on week, 2 week, how ever long breaks.

I know exactly how you feel. I write novels as a hobby, both for myself and for my friends and family to read and enjoy, but sometimes I just don’t feel it inside. I try to push myself, but if I can’t produce the quality I know my work requires, I just can’t go on because I’d be disappointing the people who love my work and that wouldn’t be honest to them or to myself. So do what you need to do, you’ll find your way. I always do.

If you feel this way I support your decision an 100%!!! This is natural for a person who had done something for themselves for a laugh ,enjoyment,its gets popular and your feel obligated to keep on going to make people happy but you are tired and it is not fun anymore. You are not turning your back against at all because this is your creation and you feel you need to take an break from it and just update in a month time or two months time its your decision. Your comics are amazing and you got 56 comics under your wing that will keep fans of your work and new fans preoccupied for a while. Do other projects that you want to do and have fun with them.Also taking a long break from it will give you new fresh ideas that will make the comics even funnier. Take care Jen! :-)
